With all of Sephine’s scans, MRI’s and tests she has been required to be put to sleep with some sort of anesthesia. Now, radiation entails her to be put under every day. Granted it is not heavy sedation, but it does require mom or dad to hold her while she “falls asleep” in our arms. Having a comforting embrace during times in big rooms with big machines makes things a little more reassuring.
Human contact is necessity. We hold our babies, hug our friends, kiss our loved ones, shake hands, embrace our parents, hold hands with lovers, it is a constant.
Isn't it perfect that Christmas is all about Christ coming to earth as a baby? How Mary and Joseph must have embraced Him, kissed Him, touched Him. Even all who came into contact with Him in His life time up until this very day, how he has touched everyone who knows Him.
We are all in this together. Living life with each other. We are all human….all desiring this need to feel loved, touched, by others. How thankful I am that we can feel God's love when we tenderly embrace, knowing He is ultimately the one who has given us the gift of one another.
