...make connections, let rip, and dance where you can....
On October 31st Kora turned 8. Her wish was that we take her downhill mountain biking. So we did...we all did. While Jilly, Sephine and I rode the chairlift up and down many times, Kora and Doug experienced the mountain.
Kora LOVED it! 5 times she went up the chairlift and down the mountain, mud everywhere. Padded up she managed to fall more than a few times, which in my mind, is the best way to prove you are giving it your all! We could tell she relished every minute of it. Needless to say, Doug and I get a bit choked up remembering that day.
Our girls are amazing. And the fact that we can sit here in our living room, a year later, Sephine's hair almost a good inch long now, we know how thankful we are. How last year at this time our circumstances were so different.
Life is crazy. Life is short. Life is meaningful. Life is family. Life is friends. Life is a gift. Be thankful! LIVE IT!!!
Today is Thanksgiving. In his perfect timing, my dad sent us a great quote from Annie Dillard's "Pilgrim at Tinker Creek."
"The point is that not only does time fly and do we die, but that in these reckless conditions we live at all, and are vouchsafed, for the duration of certain inexplicable moments, to know it...(so) make connections; let rip; and dance where you can."
